Kazufumi Yamamoto

Kazufumi Yamamoto was born in Nadasaki Town,
Okayama Pref. in 1962. The dwelling and the studio are currently
established at a mountain village in northwest Okayama City. ADDRESS：330 KAWAHARA OKAYAMA-City OKAYAMA-Prefecture Personal history：1985- He received the bachelor and master degrees in education in 1985 and 1987, respectively, all from Okayama University, Japan. He was a teacher at Interior Course, Takahashi Technical High School from 1987 to 1995. 1995- In 1995 he moved to Okayama University, where he joined the craft classsroom and the instructor of the lifelong education course. |
His interest includes woodwork from his university
days. He has been designing and manufacturing
mainly chairs and cabinets. His first private
exhibition was held at the time of his graduation.
He, however, came to feel a question on the
modern art, his interest had gradually shifted
to race
art. Henceforth, his design concept was converted
in the opposite direction to the modern art.
Now he has been designing and manufacturing
mainly
cabinets to extract universal and common
form and shape beyond cultures with the reference
of furniture in 10 to 14th century in Europe,
in Ri dynasty
in Korea, and in Asia and Africa.
